new exhibition at Forgetus Gallery

Opening Reception, Thursday March 22, 2012

Opening, March 22

Forgetus Gallery invites you to Mirage, a photography exhibition featuring new 35 mm work by film photographer Laura-Lynn Petrick.

Mirage, a word originated in the 19th century. The term describes
an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions, something that is illusory and unattainable. Something which interferes with the mind and your understanding of reality.

Laura-Lynn Petrick's series Mirage tampers with the notions of strange and natural optic effects which occur as a Utopian spectacle, through the medium of film photography. The series Mirage explores the beauteous within the landscape of the 21st century.

As Spring is here, Forgetus and Laura-Lynn are pleased to invite you to this exhibit which explores the beauty of nature and light.

Exhibition runs from March 22 to March 25.
Gallery hours, Friday: 1-4 PM Saturday/Sunday: 1-5 pm
